Russell Morris makes impassioned speech about indie record stores

VIDEO: Russell Morris cares passionately about indie record stores. And here he says why.

Indie record stores have been and continue to be a key part of the wind beneath Russell’s wings. When he released Sharkmouth in 2012 there were few in the industry who supported it … and indie record stores were big supporters. They got the music out there, into the ears of music lovers, who loved it and the rest is now, as they say, history. Sharkmouth won an ARIA, was the first in the Ghosts and Legends trilogy, which won two ARIAs in total. And now Russell has a new album out (on 5 April) called Black and Blue Heart.  He makes the great music. The indie record stores help get it out there, when few radio stations will play it.
