Here are the winners:
Winner of the Yamaha hifi system is David from Narara, NSW with his funny and heartwarming tale of how he got to own Elvis Presley’s 1954 original 78 of That’s all Right and Blue Moon of Kentucky. This got waaaay more than any other entry.
Winner of the Yamaha A1 guitar is another David. This time David from Mayfield, NSW with a 1963 first press of Please Please Me. It’s not just a first press, it’s a radio station promo copy. Every collector’s dream: he found it in a record fair.
Winner of the Yamaha turntable is Colin from Toowong, Queensland with Big Bill Broonzy and Big Bill Blues from 1956. Not a long story to go with it, but an amazing record.
Huge thanks to all the judges who were drawn from around the music world. They signed up not realising we would end up with so many entries, but they were do diligent about going through them all. Big ups to them.
