On April 22nd (Record Store Day) come down to Crosstalk’s flagship (well, only) store on Norton Street for a glorious vinyl-filled day of exclusive RSD releases and crate-digging for days. Enjoy acoustic performances from local musicians and DJs spinning vinyl throughout the day and go get a signature RSD cocktail from the inimitable Otis next door. But that’s just the start of the fun!
On April 23rd, we’re bringing the fire down the road to Crowbar for a day of live music, record shopping, music bingo, community and so much more. Get your hands on some exclusive Record Store Day leftover gems (discounted with presale ticket purchase!), and enjoy live music from local musicians and bands to take out your weekend in style. We’ll have our signature pop-up record store set up so come ready to dig for some vinyl gold! Plus, we’ll have vinyl DJs spinning throughout the day. Could we say the word Vinyl some more? Probably! Crosstalk are donating an unmissable major prize to Crowbar’s Music Bingo that you won’t want to miss, so make sure to get in on the action for a chance to win. Antenna is a new Sydney rock’n’roll band fronted by Shogun (Royal Headache).
Cammy Cautious & The Wrestlers, originally from the Blue Mountains, have been playing shows around Sydney, where they’re now based, for the past year. Their lofi EP ‘Sun Drink’ blends fuzzed out garage rock with more softly sung melodic songs, led by Will Cooke and Sarah Joy.
Big Echo is a new wave project by duo Liam (Zipper, Wireheads, Nylex) and Celeste (Zipper, Nylex, Rule of Thirds) from Newcastle/Mulubinba, featuring reverberant dual vocals with moody saxophone, melodic guitar and steadfast synth lines. Local psych pop rockers Tropical Strength return to Franks after releasing a couple new singles.

Details: This record store day we are super excited to be offering a range of refurbished Audio Technica turntables, from some of their more popular ranges, for some out of control prices.
This is all part of Audio Technica’s environmental commitments to reduce waste and the best way to do that is to re-use things for their initial purpose. Most of the tables in the program have been returned to a retailer with no fault found, potentially unboxed and used once or twice, if at all. Some other models will have been ex-display, used, or repaired but all are practically new, 100% working tables with all the accessories. They even still come with full warranty!
Each table comes newly packaged with a “Tag Zero” sticker with comments and notes from the technician who checked and approved your new turntable. So if you are interested in getting into Vinyl or you need a new turntable, this record store day we will be offering some heavily discounted turntables as part of this program. There will be limited quantities and will be sold first come first serve in store only on record store day, Saturday, April the 22nd.

The Fat Goat’s famous You Goat Vinyl night is switching up gears for Record Store Day on Saturday 22 April 2023 to have an in-store session at Captain Stomp Records from 11am to 8pm.
If you’ve never used a mixer or pro decks before don’t fret. The guys will be on hand to show you everything you need to know. Just sign up to your preferred 20 minute slot and bring your finest selection. On average you’d need around 5 songs.
