Info About Record Store Day Australia

Record Store Day Australia is open to all Australian specialist recorded music retailers with a bricks and mortar store. The focus of Record Store Day Australia is on the recorded music specialist store experience. It’s all about getting into the store and discovering great music!

A Record Store Day participating store is defined as a stand alone bricks and mortar retailer whose main primary business focuses on:

  • A physical store location
  • Whose product line consists of at least 50% music retail
  • Whose company is not publicly traded
  • Whose ownership is at least 70% located in the state of operation.

In other words, we’re dealing with real, live, physical, indie record stores—not online retailers or corporate behemoths.  Any business which applies to participate and does not meet these criteria will not be approved.

Pop up stores and fairs do not qualify.

Any applications to be listed on the US site will be referred to Australia for confirmation that the store qualifies to participate before being approved.
